Tucked into the northeast corner of this historic Queen Anne home, the Farrington Suite at the New Victorian Mansion Bed and Breakfast offers a serene and inviting retreat. Located at 325 Dayton Ave, St Paul, MN 55102, sunlight filters through delicate curtains, illuminating a space that blends bold historic character with tranquil warmth. The room’s natural light highlights a striking emerald green hearth and an original plaster quatrefoil ceiling pattern, while a soft glaze of pale blue and grey walls evokes the calm of an open sky.

Beyond the bedroom, a charming dressing room awaits—a perfect space to prepare for a special occasion or simply wrap yourself in a cozy sweater on a crisp autumn morning. The bathroom features a walk-in shower and sleek Cambria countertops, offering a fresh, modern touch. Yet, reminders of the home's history remain in the hexagonal floor tiles and quatrefoil motifs, preserving its architectural legacy.

Nestled in a quiet corner of the second floor, The Royal Suite offers a refined and private escape for guests who appreciate a little extra room and serenity. As the largest suite in the home, it offers both privacy and luxury, making it an ideal choice for wedding couples, romantic getaways, or guests simply seeking extra space to unwind.

The expansive bedroom features all-new furnishings, warm hardwood floors, and built-in bookcases that echo the home’s rich history. A separate sitting room invites you to relax in comfort, complete with a cozy couch and TV console—perfect for stretching out with a book, sharing a quiet moment, or enjoying your favorite film.

The suite’s private bathroom is the most luxurious in the entire mansion. Drenched in Carrara marble laid in a classic herringbone design, it boasts a large jetted soaking tub, a spacious walk-in shower with four showerheads, and radiant heated floors for added indulgence.

 Step into the Library Suite and find an ethereal place for reflection and creativity. Cool, grey trim encircles the base of the room and sets the tone of refinement. Beyond this, the room serves as your muse. Ignite the flame of the operational gas fireplace to fuel a night of music and spirit. Take a favorite book or project out to the sleeping porch and be inspired by the serene surroundings of the Historic Hill district. Or let the ideas simmer as you dip into the porcelain soaking tub with rain shower – the centerpiece of a vintage washroom from the late 19th century. 

The bathroom is a gem waiting to be discovered. It was constructed around 1884, and many of the features from that time remain intact today. From the original subway tiles on the wall, hexagonal tiles on the floor and classic built-in linen cabinets and dresser, this room reflects elements of other early homes in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood and represents an era of construction that has stood the test of time. The fully-restored bathroom and modern-era bedroom play well with each other. They both serve as indication of the elegant, yet mysterious, history of the home.
